My Life
At the beginning of my adolescence, I was forced to mature at a young age. I wasn’t brought up from a big family, it was just me, my brother frankie, and my little sister zayla. My mom and dad weren’t always on good terms, it used to be a day to day battle if things were going to be okay or not. I was born in Lindsay California being the oldest child from my brother and sister, things weren't always bad, but from the things I went through woke me up to a new outlook on the world today.
My home isnt just an average home, but now a days no one's home is an average home. Everyday my house is filled with tension, you would expect a home to be something you would go too to feel loved and secure, but not mine. My mom and dad are from Lindsay as well, they were Highschool sweethearts and they've been together for about 15 years now. You would expect them to be a happily married couple but no, they're not married and sadly my dad's still stuck living his high school life. I have a lot of love for both of my parents but things are getting out of hand and none of us have a say on how these situations should be handled and stopped.
Throughout the day I do what I can, with my mom being the only one working a 24/7 hourly job with only tuesdays off I have to be the mother and father while shes away. My sister zayla is 5 years old turning 6 in November, I helped raised her since the day shes was born and she sees me like her second mother. When my mom goes off to work I do the cooking, cleaning, and then I do homework that needs to be done, as you can see I have a stressful life. I don't really go out much, I never really did other than to family events that often take place. My dad is very strict and overprotective with me, I mean to too overprotective. Most of the times he just wants me to take care of my sister while he goes out and other times he don't want me to go out just cause he doesn't want me to leave, but now that i'm a senior he's become more lenient about what I want to do.
Other than that, with the overwhelming responsibilities I had to take made me understand that this isn't the type of environment I want to live in. Seeing my mom struggle with the bills and work as hard as she does to put food on the table and a roof over our heads just tears me apart, no one would want to live a life like that and my mom doesn't deserve to have the life she does. So i decided to do as much as I can and work as hard as I can in order to succeed in life and be able to help my mom and to provide her with the stuff she needs so she no longer has to struggle the way she does and help her live a happy life that she deserves.
The first day of my senior year I realized that all my hard work is going to pay off in a blink of an eye then soon I will have to start training to be in the air force and work hard on my goals to make my mom proud and be able to help those who are in need. Although senior year is a very stressful year, I know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I hope to become very successful and live a happy life and never have to worry about paying the bills or worry about having a bad future.
In conclusion I believe everything happens for a reason and it depends on how the person handles it. Everything I've experienced made me into the person I am now, my personality reflects on my past experiences and the hard times I had to face.
